Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care in our clinic.

The role involves clinical and administrative tasks under supervision, including assisting with procedures, managing exam rooms, and facilitating patient intake to keep operations efficient and patient-focused. The ideal candidate has completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program and up to 1 year of related experience or externship.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• 0-1 years of experience in a medical practice setting or externship required.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with non-invasive medical procedures, such as taking vital signs and preparing patients for exams.
• Prepare and clean exam rooms before patient visits and procedures.
• Perform patient intake duties, including documentation and basic triage.
• Maintain daily logs and documentation.
• Coordinate pre-registering patients, scheduling appointments, and referrals; verify insurance eligibility.
• Maintain organized workload and provide courteous service to providers and patients.
• Monitor supplies and equipment inventory; ensure availability for daily operations.
• Educate patients on medications, diets, and health topics; answer questions.
• Adhere to policies and standards; ensure regular attendance.
