Job summary

NYU Langone Health seeks a Medical Assistant (FGP) to join the Manhattan, Surgery-Vascular team. The MA will assist physicians and nurses, prepare exam rooms, measure vital signs, draw blood, collect lab specimens, schedule appointments, and perform data entry in EPIC.

Qualified candidates will have a Medical Assistant program completion and certification, with strong English communication and a commitment to patient privacy and care quality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant Program from an accredited institution.
• Certification from a Nationally Recognized organization (AAMA/AMT/NCCT/NHA) preferred.
• Competencies include strong English communication; other languages are an asset.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to exam rooms.
• Measures and records patient vital signs.
• Obtains and processes blood samples per policy.
• Supports documentation in EPIC and patient data entry.
• Assists with prescription refills and referrals as needed.
• Maintains patient privacy per HIPAA standards.
