Job summary

Munson Healthcare, a northern Michigan healthcare system, seeks a Medical Assistant to support clinical and administrative tasks in the clinic. You will be the first point of patient care, room and prepare patients, and assist with daily operations to ensure smooth clinic function.

The role requires either credentialed or non-credentialed Medical Assistant status with appropriate training. BLS certification is preferred and must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred.
• Credentialed Medical Assistant with Munson Healthcare Credentialing Organization preferred.
• BLS certification preferred and must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Complete clinical and administrative tasks within the clinic.
• Room and prepare patients according to clinic checklists.
• Measure patients' weight, height, vitals and other care per clinic procedures.
• Complete required patient care documentation including medical histories and referrals.
• Assist with day-to-day operations to support patient care.

Job Description

A Day inthe Life

• As a Medical Assistant, you willcomplete clinical and administrative tasks within the clinic. You willwork alongside the provider tomake sure our patients are taken care of, and the clinic runs smoothly!

You will be the first point of patient care within the clinic. You will room and prepare patients according to clinic specific checklists or procedures.You will measurepatient weight, height, oxygen saturation, respiration, temperature, pulse (manual and automatic), blood pressure (manual and automatic), and other patient care which can vary based on clinic.

You will completerequired patient care documentation including Medical Histories, referral requests, etc.

You will assistwith day-to-day operations as required for optimal patient care which can include assisting fellow teammates and providers when necessary.

Qualifications

What’s Required

CREDENTIALED MEDICAL ASSISTANT

• High school graduate or GED equivalent is preferred
• Credentialed as a Medical Assistant from an approved Munson Healthcare Credentialing Organization.
• BLS certification preferred and must be obtained within 90 days of hire and maintained.

NON-CREDENTIALED MEDICAL ASSISTANT

• High school graduate or GED equivalent is preferred
• One year (1) relevant experience working in a physician practice or similar healthcare setting in a provider/patient support or Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program approved by Munson healthcare.
• BLS certification preferred and must be obtained within 90 days of hire and maintained.
