Job summary

Nevada Health Centers is seeking a Medical Assistant Training Specialist to coordinate the training and ongoing education of medical assistants statewide. The role involves implementing training programs, ensuring competency, and overseeing externships across NVHC sites.

The specialist will drive quality measures, assist with patient care activities, and train staff on telemedicine equipment and EMR use. A CCMA certification and CPR/BLS are required or obtainable within 180 days.

Qualifications

• National CCMA certification or willing to obtain within 180 days of employment.
• CPR/BLS certification current.
• 3+ years’ MA experience in family medicine, pediatrics, or specialty clinic.
• Desire to train medical assistants in clinical best practices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee clinical skills and competencies of medical assistants.
• Develop and deliver MA education on quality, safety, and patient-centered care.
• Direct oversight of online MA training and externships.
• Evaluate daily skills and ensure proper EMR documentation.
• Track annual skills and competencies for all MAs.
• Participate in direct patient care and guide new staff.
• Train telemedicine setup and visits; audit lab duties and CLIA tests.
• Act as liaison for internal lab surveys and monthly audits.
