Job summary

Virtua is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient examinations at the Berlin location. You will obtain vitals, document chief complaints, and assist the clinical team under physician supervision.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, vaccinations, basic diagnostic tests, patient calls, and coordinating daily operations. HS diploma, MA program completion, and BLS are required; certification is needed within 1 year in some states.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or Virtua Health Medical Assistant Program.
• Current certification/registration as a Medical Assistant. In the state of DE, certification is required within 1 year of hire.
• BLS Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for exam by obtaining vital signs, chief complaint, and preparing exam room.
• Performs phlebotomy, vaccines, documentation, and basic diagnostic tests under physician supervision.
• Screens and directs patient calls; communicates prescriptions and test results under physician supervision.
• Performs daily regulatory testing to ensure clinical equipment is accurate and compliant.
• Maintains par levels of clinical supplies and supports front desk duties including registration, billing, and scheduling.
