Job summary

Sun River Health in New York is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patients and the clinical team. This full-time role assists with rooming, vital signs, in-house labs, and clerical tasks, following nursing and medical staff directions to ensure efficient patient flow.

Requirements include a High School/GED, Medical Assistant certificate, and completion of a training program. The position offers a $1500 sign-on bonus and a competitive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Completes the rooming process and takes vital signs, vision, and/or hearing tests and records patient data in the electronic health record.
• Performs in-house labs and collects specimens for outside labs; performs quality control.
• Keeps clinical area stocked and logs dated materials; disposes of outdated supplies.
• Cleans and sterilizes equipment and logs each time this service is performed.
• Performs basic clerical work; answers phones and communicates problems to the nurse.
• Ensures all appropriate logs are maintained.

Summary: A Medical Assistant helps patients and the clinical team at designated health center in support of medical care as directed by the nursing and medical staff and pursuant to the objectives and policies of the Center. This position performs job duties in compliance with systems and job specific standards and additional jobs or duties assigned.

Job Type: Full Time

Salary: $20.50-$22.00

Sign On Bonus: $1500

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Completes the rooming process and takes vital signs, vision, and/or hearing tests, record patient data in eCW, (laboratory results, pain level, PEAS, PhQ, Smoke status, etc.) Document reason for visit.
• Perform in-house labs, collect specimens for outside labs (ex. Pap, cultures, etc) perform quality control in accordance with organizational protocols.
• Keeps clinical area stocked and in good order. Assures that all dated material is kept current and disposes of outdated supplies.
• Cleans and sterilizes all equipment and logs each time this service is performed.
• Perform basic clerical work in service area; answer phones in appropriate manner, communicate problems/concerns to nurse; handle telephone inquiries
• Ensure all appropriate logs are maintained.
