Job summary

University Hospitals Pain Management in Kentucky is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support in an outpatient setting. You will room patients, obtain vital signs, document in the electronic medical record, and assist with procedures to keep patient flow efficient and patient-centered.

You will also help with front desk duties such as scheduling, collecting payer information, and upholding PHI privacy and UH policies.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates unit operations by managing patient flow.
• Assist with front desk duties specific to department, including scheduling patients, collecting and verifying patient payor information and other patient documentation.
• Performs basic patient centered care as delegated by provider
• Provides a safe environment for patients
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
