Job summary

AdventHealth in Daytona Beach, FL is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for day shift. The role includes preparing patients and equipment, performing intake and basic procedures, documenting results, and supporting clinic operations.

Required are a high school diploma and CPR/BLS; multiple CMA certifications are required. 1+ year of related experience is preferred, with background checks per Florida law and a competitive pay range of $17.28–$27.65 per hour.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of related work experience is preferred.
• Licenses and Certifications listed under Licenses and Certifications are required for this role.

Responsibilities

• Travels as needed to fulfill staffing needs and support clinic operations.
• Maintains education requirements and demonstrates competency through annual clinical competencies and tests.
• Prepares patients and equipment, documents results in the system, and ensures efficient office flow.
• Maintains OSHA compliance and safety processes.
• Provides complete patient care during visits, including intake, tests, screenings, labs, medications, and care gap closure.
• Maintains confidentiality of employee and patient information.
• Assists patients, visitors, and co-workers as needed.
• Performs clinical intake, including screenings, history, vital signs, and medication reconciliation.
• Assists with minor procedures and documentation of results.
• Educates patients about tests, medications, and diet.
• Monitors inventory and ensures supplies and equipment are functional.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

• Travels as needed to fulfill staffing needs and support clinic operations.
• Stays up to date and familiar with all policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
• Maintains education requirements for the position and demonstrates competency through annual clinical competencies and written tests.
• Ensures efficient office flow by preparing patients and equipment for treatment, initiating testing, and documenting results in the practice's designated system.
• Maintains OSHA regulatory enforcement and other office compliance, following safety processes and policies.
• Provides whole care to patients during office visits, including intake, test results, screenings, labs, medication administration, and closure of care gaps.
• Maintains confidentiality of employees' and patients' administrative and medical information.
• Supports staff teamwork by assisting patients, visitors, and co-workers when necessary.
• Performs clinical intake according to policy and procedures, including screenings, history taking, vital signs, and medication reconciliation.
• Assists with minor procedures associated with specialty and ensures accurate documentation at the time of service or results.
• Educates patients regarding tests, medications, and diet, providing clear and accurate instructions.
• Monitors and manages inventory, ensuring adequate supplies and functioning medical equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
