Job summary

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and completion of an approved Medical Assistant program, with 1 year of related clinical care experience preferred. Responsibilities include venipuncture, x-rays, EMR use, and patient education.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and documents condition including vital signs, chief complaint and medications.
• Records services and diagnoses for encounter forms and consent documents.
• Assists provider with examinations, procedures and treatments per protocols.
• Performs venipunctures and x-rays per protocol.
• Maintains medical records and charts.
• Coordinates care via calls, scheduling, prescriptions and refills.
• Uses EMR and other systems per policies.
• Tracks tests, procedures and referrals as required.
• Administers medications as directed.
• Promotes patient wellness through education.
