Job summary

Independence Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform basic direct patient care under supervision of the nurse or physician. You will assist with lab tests, treatments, immunizations, and prepare patients for examinations, while handling clerical tasks and documentation in a busy practice.

Responsibilities include collecting patient data, chart preparation, phlebotomy, specimen labeling, and ensuring patient safety.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant program or equivalent preferred.
• Certification as Medical Assistant is preferred but not always required.
• Excellent communication, organization and reasoning abilities essential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct and indirect patient care per policies and procedures.
• Collect patient data and prepare for examinations as directed.
• Prepare charts and assist with lab tests and procedures.
• Accurately document information and maintain billing data entry.
• Provide patient safety education and support the clinical staff.
