American Family Care (AFC) Lansdale is seeking a part-time/PRN medical assistant to support urgent care operations in an outpatient clinic. You will work under a licensed provider, handling routine clinical duties in a franchised location.

Qualifikationen

• Associates degree or equivalent; or 6–12 months related experience
• AMT registered and AAMA CMA preferred
• Experience in urgent care/outpatient setting is a plus

Aufgaben

• Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit
• Explain procedures to patients
• Ensure all required tests are performed accurately and timely
• Administer medications per approved procedure
• Draw blood and prepare labs for reference lab processing or in-house
• Perform laboratory tests and lab-quality controls
• Respond to lab messages and call-back requests
• Document immunizations accurately
• Perform physician referrals and pre-certifications as needed
• Prepare exam rooms and sterilize instruments
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation
• Other duties as assigned

Job Summary

Provides general medical care under the direction of a licensed provider to patients in an outpatient clinic setting. This position works directly with a franchised business location. The specific job duties and benefits can vary between franchises. We are looking to bring on a part time / PRN medical assistant with flexibility and experience in Urgent Care

Responsibilities

Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and prepare the patient for a physical exam

Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients

Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner

Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with the approved procedure

Draw blood and preparation labs for reference lab processing and/or in-house processing

Perform laboratory tests, lab-quality controls, and equipment maintenance according to written instructions

Respond to all lab messages and call back requests

Perform all drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations

Ensure patient immunizations are well documented and administered in accordance with the approved procedure

Conduct physician referrals as well as service pre-certifications on an as-needed basis

Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures

Maintain complete and accurate documentation

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. AMT registered and AAMA Certified Medical Assistants are preferred.
