Job summary

Chestnut Health Systems Inc is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to support our integrated healthcare team across Granite City, Belleville, or Maryville locations in Illinois. This PRN role fills in for sick days and busy days, with hours Monday–Friday, 8 am–5 pm.

Starting pay is $17.00–$20.50 per hour. Responsibilities include patient intake, EMR data entry, assisting with exams, vital signs, specimen collection, and patient education, supporting both medical and behavioral health services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of MA training program.
• Current CMA or CMOA certification.
• Current CNA, willing to test toward CMA or CMOA.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills including MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, and an electronic medical record.
• Valid driver's license, private auto insurance, and ability to be insured.

Responsibilities

• Support medical staff in delivering patient care services.
• Assist with patient admissions and intake processes.
• Schedule appointments, greet patients, and prepare them for visits.
• Collect and document medical histories and patient information.
• Accurately record data in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
• Assist providers during medical examinations and procedures.
• Obtain and document vital signs.
• Collect and process specimens as needed.
• Provide health education and guidance to patients and families.
• Assist patients with forms, documentation, and care coordination.
• Prepare communication and patient education materials.
• Operate mobile medical unit as needed.

Chestnut Health Systems™ is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to support our integrated healthcare team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about providing compassionate, high-quality care while supporting both medical and behavioral health services.

The anticipated starting pay for new hires for this position is between $17.00 - $20.50 an hour.
