Job summary

MD Now Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant PRN to join our team in Florida. The position supports patient care across our urgent care clinics, with flexible scheduling and the chance to work across multiple locations within the MD Now network.

You will prepare patients, assist physicians, handle specimens, and coordinate follow-up care while maintaining a patient‑centered approach and adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in a clinical setting
• Experience using an EHR system is helpful
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting program or completion of approved program
• AAMA certification is helpful
• Ability to obtain Breath Alcohol Screening & Drug Screening within 30 days
• Basic Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination by taking histories and vital signs
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain supplies/equipment including sterilization
• Administer injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy
• Assist physicians with splints, dressings, and bandages
• Assist with transfers and scheduling follow-up care
• Coordinate physicals and workplace injuries for partner accounts
• Screen calls for referral to physicians

Job Summary And Qualifications

The MDNow Urgent Care Clinic hours are Monday-Sunday 8am-8pm. You must have flexibility to work during those hours. We are seeking a Clinical Medical Assistant like you who provides expertise and is a champion of patient care. As a Medical Assistant, you will:

• Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking patient histories and vital signs
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments for your patients including preparation and maintenance of supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization
• Give injections, and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy needs
• Assist physicians in applying splints, dressings, and bandages
• Assist with transfers and scheduling of follow-up care
• Coordinate patient physicals and workplace injuries for partner accounts
• Screen incoming calls for referral to physicians and practitioners
• Willing to travel/float between all MD Now locations within assigned Area preferred

You Should Have:

• 1+ year of experience in a clinical patient setting is preferred
• Experience using an EHR system is very helpful
• Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Assisting or completion of an approved program (BOTP) is required
• Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) is helpful
• The ability to obtain a Federal Breath Alcohol Screening Certificate and Federal Drug Screening Certification within 30 days of start preferred
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
