Job summary

University of Wisconsin Medical Foundation is seeking a Medical Assistant for Primary Care (ongoing) in the Finance department. Join our team to provide patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.

You will prepare patients, take vital signs, document complaints, assist with treatments including spirometry, review medications and allergies, and support care teams across multiple UW Health Clinic locations.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited medical assistant program is required.
• LPN licensure is required upon hire.
• Certification as CMA, RMA, CCMA or CCMA is required upon hire.
• CPR/BLS certification is required upon hire.
• One year of CMA/LPN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and obtain vital signs.
• Review and update medications and allergies; document chief complaint.
• Perform spirometry and assist nursing staff with treatments.

We are seeking a Medical Assistant (MA, CMA, RMA, CCMA, LPN) to:

• Join our primary care teams who provide remarkable care to patients of all ages.
• Provide quality, conscientious care, with strict attention to details, in a fast paced, compassionate, and patient family centered environment.
• Prepare patients for examination, obtain vital signs, document chief complaint, review/update medications and allergies, perform spirometry, and assist nursing staff with treatments for patients.
• Promote healthy lifestyles, wellness and education.

Family Medicine, Internal Medicine and Pediatric positions may available throughout UW Health Clinic locations including:

• DeForest/Windsor Clinic
• East Terrace Clinic

• Odana Road Clinic
• Stoughton Clinic
• Sun Prairie

Work Schedule

Scheduled shifts are typically Monday through Friday, with 8 hours shifts between the hours of 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. No weekends required.

Pay

UW Health offers a competitive compensation package. Work experience that is relevant to the position will be taken into consideration when determining the starting base pay.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited medical assistant program Required or
• Licensure as an LPN or
• Completion of the UWH Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program or an Employee Partner Medical Assistant Program or
• Attainment of the CCMA certification as a UWH employee or
• Acceptance into the UWH MA Apprenticeship Program - Accelerated or
• One year of recent Medical Assistant experience and CMA, RMA or CCMA Certification

Work Experience

• 1 year of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant or LPN Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

• Certified as MA, CMA, RMA, or CCMA within 1 Year Required or
• Licensure as an LPN Upon Hire Required
• If applying in lieu of Medical Assistant education or LPN licensure, must have current CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification Upon Hire Required
• CPR/BLS certification Upon Hire Required
