Job Overview

This Medical Assistant position is a Monday‑Friday schedule with no evenings or weekends. The assistant works closely with licensed practitioners to provide care for patients. Responsibilities include administrative and clinical tasks such as maintaining patient records, preparing patients and rooms for examinations, and assisting physicians with exams.

Job Responsibilities
  • Maintain and update patient records, including medications and allergies
  • Take vital signs (pulse, blood pressure, etc.)
  • Assist physicians during patient examinations
  • Perform clinical procedures, specimen collection, and basic laboratory testing
  • Update the electronic health record (EHR) and manage documentation
  • Provide courteous customer service and support to patients
Qualifications

The position encompasses three related roles: Associate Medical Assistant, Medical Assistant Registered, and Medical Assistant. Required and preferred qualifications for each role are summarized below.

Associate Medical Assistant
Required Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school with hands‑on training for medical assistants, or graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program, or completed two years of medical training in the U.S. Armed Forces, or have at least one year of medical assistant experience that includes obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration.
  • Washington Medical Assistant Certification upon hire
  • National Provider BLS – American Heart Association within 30 days of hire
  • Medical assisting experience in a clinic setting (0–6 months)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience providing high‑level customer service in a fast‑paced environment (≥6 months)
  • Experience with an electronic health record (EHR) (≥6 months)
Medical Assistant Registered
Required Qualifications
  • Washington Medical Assistant Registration within 60 days of hire
  • National Provider BLS – American Heart Association within 30 days of hire
  • Six months of healthcare experience
  • Six months of medical assistant experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Coursework/Training in Medical Assistant, Medical Office Assistant, Medical Secretary, or Health Unit Coordinator/Clerk
Medical Assistant
Required Qualifications

Salary

Associate Medical Assistant: $17.06–$26.07 per hour (starting pay $20.91/hr).

Medical Assistant Registered: $17.06–$26.07 per hour (starting pay $20.91/hr).

Medical Assistant: $18.50–$28.27 per hour (starting pay $22.19/hr).
