Job summary

Munson Healthcare is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our Charlevoix clinic. The position is 32 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, in a busy outpatient setting focused on delivering compassionate care to our community.

You'll work alongside providers to ensure smooth clinic operations, room patients, take vital signs, and complete required documentation. LBS/BLS certification is preferred with formal credentialing through Munson Healthcare.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Credentialed Medical Assistant from Munson Healthcare Credentialing Organization.
• BLS certification preferred and must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Room and prepare patients, assisting the provider to ensure efficient clinic flow.
• Take and record vitals (weight, height, oxygen saturation, respiration, temperature, pulse, BP) and document patient information.
• Assist with day-to-day clinic operations and support team members as needed.

Job Description

A Day inthe Life

• As a Medical Assistant, you willcomplete clinical and administrative tasks within the clinic. You willwork alongside the provider tomake sure our patients are taken care of, and the clinic runs smoothly!

• You will be the first point of patient care within the clinic. You will room and prepare patients according to clinic specific checklists or procedures.You will measurepatient weight, height, oxygen saturation, respiration, temperature, pulse (manual and automatic), blood pressure (manual and automatic), and other patient care which can vary based on clinic.

• You will completerequired patient care documentation including Medical Histories, referral requests, etc.

• You will assistwith day-to-day operations as required for optimal patient care which can include assisting fellow teammates and providers when necessary.

Qualifications

What’s Required

CREDENTIALED MEDICAL ASSISTANT

• High school graduate or GED equivalent is preferred
• Credentialed as a Medical Assistant from an approved Munson Healthcare Credentialing Organization.
• BLS certification preferred and must be obtained within 90 days of hire and maintained.

NON-CREDENTIALED MEDICAL ASSISTANT

• High school graduate or GED equivalent is preferred
• One year (1) relevant experience working in a physician practice or similar healthcare setting in a provider/patient support or Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program approved by Munson healthcare.
• BLS certification preferred and must be obtained within 90 days of hire and maintained.

Additional Information

Munson Healthcare requires all employees be vaccinated or have lab confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella. MHC also requires all employees to receive a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year that they are hired and annually thereafter, or receive an approved medical or religious exemption.
