PM Pediatrics in Kissimmee, FL is hiring a Medical Assistant to support pediatric urgent care operations. You will assist with patient intake, vitals, basic labs, imaging prep, and front desk tasks under physician supervision. A friendly demeanor, strong communication, and ability to multitask are essential to keep the team running smoothly.

This role emphasizes teamwork, patient safety, and efficient workflow. Previous pediatric experience and comfort with medical software are preferred.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior experience and/or education as a Medical Assistant.
• Knowledge of EKG placement in children.
• Ability to obtain lab tests via nasal swab and venipuncture.
• Professional, friendly demeanor.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Pediatric experience preferred.
• Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiar with computers and Microsoft Office; willing to learn medical software.
• Experience with medical records preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations.
• Greet and register patients as they arrive.
• Obtain medical history, vital signs, and intake.
• Prepare patients for X-rays.
• Perform and document routine labs (e.g., throat and urine cultures; venipuncture if needed).
• Irrigate and assist with wounds.
• Assist in quality control testing in the lab.
• Be an integral part of the patient care team within scope of practice.
• Maintain supplies in exam rooms and front reception.
• Maintain waiting room cleanliness and order.
• Follow safety practices and precautions.
• Respond to emergencies and notify medical team as needed.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Support opportunities to enhance patient care and service recovery when needed.
• Assist patients with complaints and other duties, including splints and nursing procedures.

Summary The Medical Assistant is responsible for all departmental functions aligned with the mission, vision, and goals of PM Pediatrics. The Medical Assistant roles is an opportunity for a pediatric medical assistant to apply their skills in a pediatric urgent care setting and assist with primary patient care based on individual patient needs within their scope of practice under the physician's direct supervision. This position maintains effective working relationships with all customers, including patients/families, physicians, employees, volunteers, and vendors.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations
• Greet and register patients as they arrive
• Obtain medical history, patient vital signs, and intake
• Prepare patients for X-rays
• Perform and document routine labs, such as throat and urine cultures (venipuncture experience preferred)
• Irrigate and assist with wounds
• Assist in performing quality control testing in the lab
• Be an integral part of the patient care team and assist with patient care within the scope of practice
• Keep exam rooms and front reception stocked with adequate supplies
• Maintain order and cleanliness of the waiting room area
• Practice standard safety practices and precautions
• Help patients in distress by responding to emergencies and notifying medical team (nurse, urgent care tech, and physician)
• Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes to management team
• Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential
• Enhances health care practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and challenging requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
• Assistant patients with complaints and taking an active role in service recovery when needed
• Perform other duties as needed including apply splints and assisting the nurse and/or provider in other medical procedures
• Provide exceptional customer services

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Prior experience and/or education as a Medical Assistant
• Knowledge or EKG placement and processing in children
• Ability to obtain laboratory tests via nasal swab, and venipuncture
• Demonstrate a professional and friendly demeanor
• Strong communications and organizational skills
• Prior pediatric experience
• Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable with computers, Microsoft Office Suite
• Willing to learn medical software
• Experience with medical records preferred

Compensation

$18 - $23/hour The salary/rate range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary/rate for this role. Please note that actual salaries/rates may vary within this range above or below, depending on experience and location. We look at compensation for each individual and based on experience and qualifications.
