Job summary

Praxis Health is hiring a Medical Assistant in Pendleton, OR. You will support providers and ensure smooth patient care, room patients, perform EKGs and vitals, update records, assist with minor procedures and injections, and help with discharge and follow-up steps.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and a MA diploma is preferred, plus at least one year of MA/CNA experience. BLS is required or obtainable within 30 days.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• MA diploma from an accredited program preferred.
• At least 1 year of Medical Assistant or CNA experience.
• Ability to multi-task and support multiple providers.
• Strong customer service and attention to detail.
• BLS certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days).
• Experience with EMR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Room patients quickly and efficiently.
• Perform EKG procedures and record vitals.
• Update medical records.
• Assist with minor procedures and injections.
• Support patients through discharge and follow-ups.
• Manage medical supplies and maintain a clean work area.

Schedule: Full-time, four days per week. Work hours are 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The scheduled day off will vary based on the provider’s schedule.

About the Role

As a Medical Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting providers and ensuring seamless patient care. Your responsibilities will include:

• Rooming patients quickly and efficiently
• Performing Electrocardiogram (EKG) procedures and vital sign measurement
• Updating medical records
• Assisting with minor procedures and administering injections
• Supporting patients through their visit, including discharge and follow-ups
• Managing medical supplies and ensuring a clean work environment

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
• Medical Assisting diploma from an accredited vocational institution or a community college program preferred
• At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant or CNA
• Ability to multi-task and provide support to multiple providers
• Strong customer service skills and attention to detail
• BLS certification (or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire)
• Experience withelectronic medical records (EMR) preferred

General Physical Requirements
