Job summary

Munson Healthcare in Charlevoix, MI is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the clinic team on a 40-hour, Monday–Friday day shift. You will be the first point of patient care, rooming and preparing patients and supporting the provider to keep the clinic running smoothly.

The role requires either Credentialed or non-credentialed Medical Assistant status, BLS preferred and must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Credentialed Medical Assistant per Munson Healthcare.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• BLS certification preferred and must be obtained within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Room and prepare patients according to clinic checklists.
• Measure vitals and assist provider to ensure smooth workflow.
• Complete required patient care documentation (histories, referrals).
• Assist with day-to-day clinic operations as needed.

Job Description

A Day inthe Life

• As a Medical Assistant, you will complete clinical and administrative tasks within the clinic. You will work alongside the provider tomake sure our patients are taken care of, and the clinic runs smoothly!

You will be the first point of patient care within the clinic. You will room and prepare patients according to clinic specific checklists or procedures.You will measurepatient weight, height, oxygen saturation, respiration, temperature, pulse (manual and automatic), blood pressure (manual and automatic), and other patient care which can vary based on clinic.

You will completerequired patient care documentation including Medical Histories, referral requests, etc.

You will assistwith day-to-day operations as required for optimal patient care which can include assisting fellow teammates and providers when necessary.

Qualifications

What’s Required

CREDENTIALED MEDICAL ASSISTANT

• High school graduate or GED equivalent is preferred
• Credentialed as a Medical Assistant from an approved Munson Healthcare Credentialing Organization.
• BLS certification preferred and must be obtained within 90 days of hire and maintained.

NON-CREDENTIALED MEDICAL ASSISTANT

• High school graduate or GED equivalent is preferred
• One year (1) relevant experience working in a physician practice or similar healthcare setting in a provider/patient support or Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program approved by Munson healthcare.
• BLS certification preferred and must be obtained within 90 days of hire and maintained.

Additional Information

Munson Healthcare requires all employees be vaccinated or have lab confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella. MHC also requires all employees to receive a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year that they are hired and annually thereafter, or receive an approved medical or religious exemption.
