Job summary

UW Health’s pediatrics team is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant (70% FTE) to join physicians delivering child-centered care. Shifts Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays 8:00am-4:30pm and Wednesdays 8:00am-12:00pm; no weekends. Hours may vary with department needs.

You will prepare patients for exams, record vitals, document chief complaints, medications and allergies, administer treatments, promote healthy lifestyles, and support wellness and education.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with one of the listed paths to MA certification/licensure.
• Completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
• Licensure as an LPN.
• Completion of the UWH Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program or Employee Partner MA Program.
• Attainment of CCMA certification as a UWH employee.
• Acceptance into the UWH MA Apprenticeship Program - Accelerated.
• One year of recent MA experience with CMA/RMA/CCMA certification.
• CPR/BLS certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Join our team of pediatric physicians providing care from birth through adolescence.
• Provide quality care in a patient-family centered environment.
• Prepare patients for examination, obtain vital signs, document complaints, medications and allergies, and administer medications and treatments.
• Promote healthy lifestyles, wellness, and education.

Education

Completion of an accredited medical assistant program

Licensure as an LPN

Completion of the UWH Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program or an Employee Partner Medical Assistant Program

Attainment of the CCMA certification as a UWH employee

Acceptance into the UWH MA Apprenticeship Program - Accelerated

One year of recent Medical Assistant experience and CMA, RMA or CCMA Certification

CPR/BLS certification

Job description

Work Schedule: Part-time, 70% FTE, day shift. Shifts will be scheduled as Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays between the hours of 8:00am - 4:30pm and Wednesdays between the hours of 8:00am - 12:00pm. No weekends required. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

Work Experience

• 1 year of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant or LPN Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

• Certified as MA, CMA, RMA, or CCMA within 1 Year Required
• Licensure as an LPN Upon Hire Required
• If applying in lieu of Medical Assistant education or LPN licensure, must have current CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification Upon Hire Required
• CPR/BLS certification Upon Hire Required
