Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant in Skokie and Lake Bluff, IL. The role is full-time with early hours and travel between sites as needed.

Responsibilities include answering phones, scheduling, collecting payments, and supporting physicians with patient flow and documentation. CPR is required; MA certification preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program preferred, but not required.
• CPR certification through American Heart Association required; medical assistant certification preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and schedule appointments.
• Collect co-pays and complete patient registration.
• Provide front office support and verify insurances.
• Greet patients and escort to exam room; document vitals, allergies, medications, and visit reason.
• Check in/out patients and perform basic vitals (BP, height, weight).
• Phlebotomy and injections may be required.

Hourly Pay Range: $20.29 - $29.42 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights

• Position: Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant
• Location: Skokie and Lake Bluff, IL
• Full Time/Part Time: Full Time (40 hours per week)
• Hours: 6:30AM - 4:30PM Tuesday - Friday (4-10hour shifts)
• Required Travel: This role includes some travel to other locations and requires flexible hours to meet operational needs

What you will do

• Answer phones
• Schedule appointments
• Collect co-payments
• Complete patient registration
• Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
• Check in and check out patient
• Verify insurances
• Greet patients and escort them to exam room
• Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
• Provide front office support as needed
• Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
• Phlebotomy and injections may be required

What you will need

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required. Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required
• Certification: CPR certification through the American Heart Association required; Medical Assistant Certification (AMT, AAMA, ARMA, CCMA, CMA, MAC, AMCA) is preferred, but not required
• Experience: One year of work experience required, previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred. On the job training is provided for those who do not have previous medical assistant training or experience
