Job summary

Griffin Health Brand is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care in a surgical office setting. You will organize patient flow, prepare exam rooms, document histories, and assist with exams and procedures.

The role requires strong customer service, multi-tasking, and EMR experience; education includes a high school diploma or GED with medical office assistant training preferred. Flexibility to float to other GFP locations may be needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, Medical Office Assistant diploma preferred.
• Experience in a surgical office strongly preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records is required.

Responsibilities

• Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned, including organizing patient flow and preparing exam rooms.
• Documents patient history, charting, collecting specimens, relaying instructions to patients, and assisting patients as necessary.
• Performs patient screening, documents history, reconciles medications, and obtains vitals.
• Assists doctor with exams and office procedures as needed.
• Assists office coordinator with phones, scheduling, and other admin duties.
• Manages and updates patient records, handles referrals and prior authorizations.
• Maintains inventory of clinical equipment and supplies and restocks as needed.
• Obtains prior authorizations and books surgeries as needed.
