Responsibilities

• Serve as patient advocate during exams and treatments.
• Interview patients to obtain medical information and vital signs.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, or surgeries.
• Record medical history, medications, allergies, and test results.
• Ensure proper consent forms are obtained prior to treatment.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician.
• Collect specimens and prepare them for testing.
• Explain treatment procedures, medications, and wound care instructions.
• Assist physicians during examinations and procedures, including injections.
• Authorize refills under provider direction and communicate with pharmacies.
• Schedule appointments and manage patient flow.
• Maintain sterile fields and clean treatment rooms between patients.
• Dispose of infectious waste and biohazard materials properly.
• Assist with emergency situations following protocols.
• Inventory and order supplies as needed and ensure equipment is functional.
