Job summary

AdventHealth in Ormond Beach is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for a full-time, day-shift role. You will travel as needed to support clinic operations, maintain compliance with policies and document results in the system.

The position requires CMA certification, a High School diploma or GED, and at least 1 year of related experience is preferred. Benefits start day one and include career development and well-being resources.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of health care field and medical terminology.
• Knowledge of chronic disease management.
• Knowledge of and ability to utilize internal and external resources.
• Expertise in patient advocacy and navigating complex systems.
• Ability to function in stressful, fast-paced environments.
• Ability to resolve issues and work independently.
• Ability to exercise sound judgement and maintain professionalism.
• Good reading, writing, typing and spoken English.
• Experience with computers is required.

Responsibilities

• Travels as needed to fulfill staffing needs and support clinic operations.
• Maintains education requirements and demonstrates competency through clinical assessments.
• Prepares patients and equipment for treatment and documents results in the system.
• Maintains OSHA compliance and office safety procedures.
• Provides whole care during visits including intake, tests, and medication reconciliation.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient and staff information.
• Assists with patient, visitor, and coworker support as needed.
• Performs clinical intake with screenings, vital signs, and history taking.
