Job summary

Virtua Health seeks a Medical Assistant to support patient care at our Hammonton/Medford locations. You will assist clinicians by taking vital signs, documenting history and chief complaints, and preparing exam rooms for visits.

The role includes performing phlebotomy, vaccine administration, and basic diagnostic tests under supervision. A HS diploma and MA program graduate are required; certification within 1 year may be required in some settings.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Certification as Medical Assistant within 1 year of hire where required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for exam by obtaining and documenting vital signs, chief complaint, and preparing exam room.
• Performs phlebotomy and obtains specimens for processing.
• Administers vaccines and completes required documentation.
• Performs diagnostic tests such as EKG and Pulmonary Function tests under physician supervision.
• Screens and directs patient calls; communicates prescriptions and test results under physician direction.
• Maintains regulatory testing and ensures equipment is accurate and compliant.
