Job summary

New York Health (NYH) is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our PCP team. You will manage patient intakes, collect specimens, record vitals, and prepare patients for examinations across multiple NYH locations.

The role requires a Medical Assistant Certificate and a High School Diploma, with EMR proficiency and bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and reliable transport to sites are necessary.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant Certificate and a High School Diploma are required.
• Proficiency with an EMR system is preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
• Must be able to sit for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds, with PPE as needed.
• Reliable transportation to NYH locations for patient care.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient intakes, ensuring accurate information recording.
• Collect and process lab specimens, including venipuncture and diagnostic tests.
• Record patients' vital signs.
• Prepare patients for examinations.
• Sterilize medical equipment and instruments.
• Assist providers and other staff in data entry.
• Assist physicians during visits with examinations and procedures.
• Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing.
• Other duties as assigned.
