Job summary

University of Southern California, in partnership with Keck Medicine and the Culinary Health Fund, seeks a Medical Assistant to support patient flow, obtain vital signs, assist with exams, and prepare patient charts for physicians in Las Vegas, NV.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited Medical Assistant certificate/diploma program, and a current BLS certification. Proficiency with EHR systems (Cerner, ProSolv) is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent required.
• Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant certificate/diploma program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification required.
• Experience with EHR systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare charts with vital signs and tests.
• Assist physicians with exams and minor procedures.
• Record patient information in the chart/EHR per Joint Commission standards.
• Obtain blood samples by venipuncture or capillary methods.
• Ensure patient privacy, safety, and confidentiality.
• Coordinate scheduling and diagnostic tests ordered by physicians.
