Job summary

Jefferson is hiring a Medical Assistant to support physicians in patient assessment, examinations and treatment. You will escort patients, document vital signs and medical history, and assist with procedures such as EKGs and venipuncture within HIPAA guidelines.

Responsibilities include ensuring smooth patient flow, coordinating with staff, ordering supplies, and maintaining accurate records in the office IT systems. Strong communication and organization are essential.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• NJ locations may have additional credentialing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and ensure proper identification.
• Perform and document vital signs, clinical care quality measures, and medical history information.
• Assist physicians with examinations and diagnostic procedures including EKG and venipuncture.
• Adhere to HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
• Order clinical supplies to maintain inventory and facilitate smooth office operations.
