Job summary

Baton Rouge General Medical Center is seeking a motivated Medical Assistant to support physicians in coordinating patient care within the clinic setting. You will collect data, assist with examinations, administer medications as ordered, and perform phlebotomy with accuracy and adherence to policies.

You will also handle incoming patient calls, assist with data management, and help maintain accurate clinical records while upholding HIPAA and safety standards in a fast-paced outpatient

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in a clinic setting.
• Current Medical Assistant Certification.
• Preferred: High School Diploma or GED and completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• HIPAA knowledge and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic physical assessment on patients and collects data for treatment.
• Administers medications as ordered and adheres to policy with accuracy.
• Performs phlebotomy as directed by physician with proper technique.
• Answers and responds to incoming patient care related phone calls.
• Maintains and updates patient clinical records with 100% accuracy.
