Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or at least one year as a Medical Assistant or CCMA/NCRMA certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Schedules tests, prepares lab specimens, and obtains films/reports according to policy.
• Assists physicians/nurses with procedures and examinations per competency checklist.
• Collaborates with health care team to coordinate patient care and records history as needed.
• Submits prescriptions/refills electronically, by phone, or by fax to outpatient pharmacies.
• Ensures data for completed procedures is recorded in medical records.
