Virtua Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical providers with patient examinations, including documenting vital signs, medical history, social history, and chief complaint.

The role performs phlebotomy, vaccines, and point-of-care testing under physician supervision, while also handling front desk tasks such as patient registration, scheduling, and basic billing. Strong organizational skills and attention to accuracy are essential.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or Virtua Health MA program.
• Current Medical Assistant certification; in the state of DE, certification required within 1 year of hire.
• BLS certification required.

Responsabilités

• Prepares patient for exam by obtaining and documenting vital signs and chief complaint.
• Performs phlebotomy and collects specimens; administers vaccines under physician supervision.
• Conducts diagnostic tests such as EKG and pulmonary function per protocol.
• Screens calls and communicates prescriptions and test results under physician guidance.
• Maintains regulatory testing and ensures equipment accuracy and compliance.
• Performs front desk duties including patient registration, billing and appointment scheduling.
