Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, ME is hiring a Medical Assistant for a full-time, days schedule. You will assist physicians with patient care, handle scheduling and chart management, and help patients understand and access clinic services.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited medical assistant program, and preferred certification. BLS at hire is expected, with at least one year in a public-facing role and health care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or relevant experience required for new hires effective April 2014.
• Graduate from an accredited school of medical assistance.
• Medical Assistant Certification, preferred.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum one year work experience in public contact job.
• Work experience in health care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for assisting physicians with patient care, clerical, environmental and organization tasks.
• Responsible for appointment scheduling and chart management.
• Provides information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the clinic services.
• Conveys a positive image of organization.

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Graduate from an accredited school of medical assistance

Medical Assistant Certification, preferred

Current BLS certificate

Minimum one year work experience in public contact
