Job summary

North Country Healthcare seeks a Non-Certified Medical Assistant to support clinicians with routine patient examinations and essential clinic operations.

You will prepare exam rooms, record vitals, manage patient flow, and assist with phlebotomy and CLIA-waived tests under supervision. A high school diploma or GED is required, with MA training preferred; certification isn’t mandatory but ongoing education is encouraged.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a medical assistant training program preferred.
• Certification not required; continued education and learning to sit for certification within first year.

Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare providers with routine patient examinations and procedures.
• Prepare examination rooms by cleaning and restocking supplies.
• Record patient information such as vital signs and medical histories.
• Schedule patient appointments and manage the patient flow.
• Assist in operations, including answering phones, managing workload buckets, refilling prescriptions, and cross covering within other departments.
• Provide patients with basic instructions for medication and follow-up care as directed by providers.
• Perform phlebotomy and other CLIA Waived testing and observe urine collection; prepare batches for laboratory.
