Job summary

Northwestern Memorial Hospital is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians, nurses and the care team in a busy clinical setting in Chicago. You will facilitate efficient patient flow, assist with exams and procedures, document vital signs and medical history, and help maintain safe, clean patient care areas.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED and either certification or eligibility in one of the approved MA programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certification in one of the approved MA programs or eligibility to obtain it within six months.
• American Heart Association BLS certification preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Assure efficient patient flow through the site; escort patients and prepare exam rooms.
• Assist practitioners with ECG, venipuncture, immunizations and CLIA-waived testing as directed.
• Stock and disinfect exam rooms; monitor inventory and maintain inventory levels.
• Demonstrate professional communication with patients and care team.
