Job summary

Westchester Medical Center Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant who supports physicians and RNs by taking vital signs, collecting data, and providing direct patient care. The role coordinates labs, radiology, referrals, and directs patients to appropriate services while maintaining charts and handling registration and billing tasks.

The position may require travel to other locations and involves administrative support as well as clinical duties under established procedures.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care to patients.
• Provides care to patients as instructed in accordance with established procedures.
• Escorts patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, measures vital signs including height, weight, blood pressure, pulse ox, temperature, and documents all information given into patient’s chart.
• Obtains all related reports, labs, information and files in patients’ medical records in accordance with established procedures.
• Maintains patients charts and logs and provides secretarial support as well as assisting with registration and billing.
• Travel to other locations may be required as needed.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.
