Job summary

Impact Life, Inc. is seeking a compassionate Part-Time Medical Assistant to join our Rural Health Hub in Dover, Delaware.

The role supports patient intake, vital signs, health screenings, and scheduling while working with a multidisciplinary team to provide low-barrier access to healthcare for Kent County communities. The candidate will assist with documentation in the EHR, coordinate referrals, and help maintain supplies and infection prevention.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant training or education program.
  • Ability to accurately obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and other patient information within the scope of the role.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle protected health information.
  • Strong communication, organization, customer service, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Ability to perform assigned clinical and administrative responsibilities within the scope of the position.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient intake and accurately document demographic, health, and visit-related information.
  • Obtain and document vital signs and relevant medical histories within the scope of the Medical Assistant role.
  • Support health screenings and point-of-care testing as directed.
  • Prepare patients, examination areas, equipment, and supplies for healthcare visits and screenings.
  • Assist licensed clinical providers with patient flow and routine clinical support.
  • Promptly communicate patient concerns or abnormal findings to the appropriate licensed clinical provider.
  • Support scheduling of appointments, referrals, specialty care, and follow-up services.
  • Conduct patient follow-up as assigned to promote continuity of care.
  • Help patients navigate next steps related to appointments and referrals.
  • Maintain, organize, and monitor medical and clinical supplies.
  • Support infection prevention, equipment readiness, and safe clinical practices.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Collaborate with clinical, recovery support, and community-based team members.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with applicable privacy requirements.

Medical Assistant – Part-Time

About the Role

Impact Life is seeking a compassionate and dependable Part-Time Medical Assistant to join our Rural Health Hub team in Dover, Delaware.

The Medical Assistant supports day-to-day clinical operations and works as part of a multidisciplinary team to help provide timely, efficient, and low-barrier access to healthcare and support services for individuals and families throughout Kent County and surrounding rural communities.

This position supports patient intake, vital signs, medical histories, health screenings, point-of-care testing, scheduling, referrals, medical supply management, and patient follow-up while working closely with the Nurse Practitioner, RN Program Manager, Certified Community Health Worker, and other members of the care team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with patient intake and accurately document demographic, health, and visit-related information.

  • Experience with patient intake, vital signs, health screenings, point-of-care testing, scheduling, referrals, or patient follow-up.
  • Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders, behavioral health needs, or barriers to healthcare access.
  • Experience using Electronic Health Records (EHR).
