Job summary

Intermountain Health in Utah Valley Clinic, Provo, is seeking a Medical Assistant to support our ambulatory clinic team. You will assist clinicians, collect visit information, and communicate with patients by phone and in person to ensure high-quality care.

The role requires completion of a Medical Assistant program or MA experience, BLS certification, basic computer skills, and strong patient communication.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program or one year of MA experience or a current RN/LPN license.
• Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers. Must be obtained prior to start date
• Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
• Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and PHI of patients, members, and caregivers.
• Utah Only: If certified with less than one year of MA experience, caregivers may attend a yearlong MA residency program

Responsibilities

• Providing Patient Care: Under the direction of the Clinician, assisting the provider to gather information relevant to the patient’s visit.
• Effective Communication: Communicating clearly with patients seeking care through telephone and in-person interactions.
• Team Collaboration: Working with cross functional teams to collaborate on patient care; attention to detail and follow-through are essential.
• May assist with handling documentation and data entry related to patient visits.
