Job summary

Ohio State University Physicians is seeking a Medical Assistant in Westerville, OH, to support direct patient care and routine procedures. You will room patients, record vital signs, interview patients, and assist with examinations and treatments in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Qualifications include a high school diploma plus one of the listed training paths or experience; certification is preferred. OSUP offers tuition reimbursement for certification and a comprehensive benefit package.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with at least one of the listed options.
• Preferred: Medical Assistant Certification.
• Tuition reimbursement program available for certification.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, measure and record vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration.
• Complete patient interview and history.
• Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments and explain procedures. Assists with procedures as ordered by physician.
• May assist in examinations, carry out treatments and special tests.
• Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.
• Collect samples such as blood, urine and sputum from patients, and perform routine laboratory tests on samples.

Education

Medical Assistant Program diploma

1 year medical assisting experience

Military Medic training

EMT-P (Paramedic) training

Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education
