Job summary

Munson Healthcare in Grayling, MI seeks a Medical Assistant for the Orthopedic Surgery Clinic. This full-time float role supports providers and staff across the East Region, with a base in Grayling and travel as needed.

Day shift, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with a $9,000 sign-on bonus and comprehensive benefits. You will perform clinical and administrative tasks, room patients, take vital signs, and maintain documentation to ensure smooth clinic operations.

Qualifications

• Credentialed Medical Assistant per Munson Healthcare credentialing.
• BLS preferred; must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• One year of related experience for non-credentialed MA.

Responsibilities

• Complete clinical and administrative tasks in the clinic.
• Room and prepare patients according to clinic checklists.
• Record vital signs and complete medical histories and referrals.

A Day inthe Life

• As a Medical Assistant, you willcomplete clinical and administrative tasks within the clinic. You willwork alongside the provider tomake sure our patients are taken care of, and the clinic runs smoothly!

You will be the first point of patient care within the clinic. You will room and prepare patients according to clinic specific checklists or procedures.You will measurepatient weight, height, oxygen saturation, respiration, temperature, pulse (manual and automatic), blood pressure (manual and automatic), and other patient care which can vary based on clinic.

You will completerequired patient care documentation including Medical Histories, referral requests, etc.

You will assistwith day-to-day operations as required for optimal patient care which can include assisting fellow teammates and providers when necessary.

What’s Required

CREDENTIALED MEDICAL ASSISTANT

• High school graduate or GED equivalent is preferred
• Credentialed as a Medical Assistant from an approved Munson Healthcare Credentialing Organization.
• BLS certification preferred and must be obtained within 90 days of hire and maintained.

NON-CREDENTIALED MEDICAL ASSISTANT

• High school graduate or GED equivalent is preferred
• One year (1) relevant experience working in a physician practice or similar healthcare setting in a provider/patient support or Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program approved by munson healthcare.
• BLS certification preferred and must be obtained within 90 days of hire and maintained.

Munson Healthcare requires all employees be vaccinated or have lab confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella. MHC also requires all employees to receive a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year that they are hired and annually thereafter, or receive an approved medical or religious exemption.
