As a Medical Assistant, you will room patients, conduct intake, perform administrative duties, support clinicians, and help maintain a welcoming, efficient clinic flow on a consistent days shift from 8:00am to 4:30pm.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an approved Medical Assisting program.
  • BLS certification either held or obtained during the new hire period.
  • Completion of a clinical externship or extensive clinical experience.
  • Current demonstrated clinical proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with rooming patients, conducting patient intakes and administrative tasks.
  • Support clinicians and maintain clinic workflow and cleanliness.
  • Perform administrative/clerical duties such as filing, scheduling and patient registration.

Education

Graduate from an approved Medical Assisting program
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Clinical externship / extensive clinical experience
Medical Assisting certification (CMA, NCMA or CCMA) preferred

This practice offers complete care for hips,kneesand shoulders, including advanced augmented reality technology for precision procedures.As a Medical Assistant on this team, you will collaborate with fellow caregivers to create a welcoming, comfortable environment for patients,familiesand visitors. A caregiver in this position works Monday-Friday from 8:00AM – 4:30PM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Assistwith performing screenings and treatments by gathering and updating information related to health maintenance,identifyingmedication changes, updating allergy information, collecting specimens, performingtestsand documenting patient care.

  • Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition.

  • Administer specific medications under the direction of the provider.

  • Maintain equipment, medicalsuppliesand examination areas.

  • Perform administrative/clerical duties, such as filing, reception, scheduling, dataentryand patient registration.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Graduate from an approved Medical Assisting program

  • Military training as a hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross - If you do not hold this certification, you must obtain it during your new hire period

  • Completion of a clinical externship OR extensive clinical experience

  • Currentdemonstratedclinicalproficiency

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Medical Assisting certification (CMA, NCMA or CCMA)

  • Successful completion of a Cleveland Clinic externship

Physical Requirements:

  • Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.
  • May require extended periods of standing, walking or sitting.
  • Good visual acuity through normal or corrected vision.
  • Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects.
  • Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible.
  • Note: The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
