Job summary

UVM Health - Central Vermont Medical Center is seeking a Medical Assistant II to support ambulatory clinic visits under the supervision of the Practice Manager. The MA II will prep patients for visits, assist with basic clinical tasks, and work with the team to ensure efficient, confidential patient care.

Candidates should have 1–2 years of Medical Assistant experience or relevant healthcare experience and have completed a Medical Assistant training program.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of Medical Assistant training program or equivalent.
• 1–2 years Medical Assistant experience preferred; less experience considered with related patient care experience.

Job Description

Under the general supervision of the Practice Manager, the Medical Assistant II (MA II) is responsible for basic clinical duties required to ready a patient for the Provider visit in the ambulatory clinic setting. The MA II works collaboratively with the practice team to assure efficient and effective operations in the practice while maintaining confidentiality of all patients’ records, medical treatment and diagnosis and abiding by the policies and procedures of the practice.

Education

High School graduate or equivalent. Successful completion of Medical Assistance or comparable training program. Two years Medical Assistant experience will be considered in lieu of training program.

Experience

1 to 2 years Medical Assistant experience required

A Candidate with less than 1 year of experience may be considered as a Medical Assistant I if they have other previous patient care or healthcare experience.
