Job summary

Aurora Medical Group in South Milwaukee, WI is seeking Medical Assistants or Licensed Practical Nurses to support the care team. This full-time float pool position combines clinical and administrative tasks to ensure safe, compassionate patient care.

Responsibilities include welcoming patients, recording vital signs, preparing for exams, assisting providers, administering meds/vaccines, lab tasks, and EHR documentation. Schedule: Mon–Fri, 7am–6:30pm.

Qualifications

  • MA: GED or HS diploma with completed Medical Assistant program or 2 years MA experience.
  • LPN: Advanced training with an accredited Practical Nursing program.
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers certification required within 45 days unless exempt.

We're Looking For:
Licensure or Certifications
  • LPN: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the state in which the team member practices, and
  • MA: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 45 days unless department leader has determined it is not required.

Degrees
  • MA: GED or HS Equivalency Diploma. Completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Assistant, or 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years.

As a Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse, you'll play a vital roleinthe care team – supporting providers, connecting with patients, and helping ensure a seamless, compassionate experience every day.

As a key member of the ambulatory care team, you will:

  • Welcome patients and support their transition into care.

Actual compensation offered in the Pay Range of $21.85 - $32.80 for an MA or $24.10 - $36.15 for an LPN and will be based on factors such as qualifications, skills, relevant experience and/or training and internal equity.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
  • Must be able to: push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
  • Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions.
  • Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines.
  • Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed.
  • May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.
  • Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.
  • Physical Abilities Testing may be required.
  • Additional department specific physical requirements may be identified for unique responsibilities within the department by the nurse leader.
