Job summary

Premier Cardiovascular Institute: Needmore in Dayton, OH is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support the Premier Physician Network. You will typically see upwards of 30 patients per day and assist with general clinical and procedural patient care under supervision of the Practice Manager and center physicians/providers.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Medical Assistant and graduation from CMA program.
• Ambulatory health care experience preferred.
• Ability to learn center tasks and assist management.
• CPR certification within first 3 months.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR.
• Thorough understanding of HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and collect vitals; document findings accurately.
• Perform clinical procedures: injections, EKGs, pulmonary tests, lab work.
• Dressing changes, wound care, hearing and vision checks as assigned.

Summary Of Position

A Certified Medical Assistant for the Premier Physician Network will typically see upwards of 30 patients per day, and is responsible for general clinical and procedural patient care, under supervision of the Practice Manager and/or center Physicians/Providers.

Nature and Scope

Independently performed procedures may include, but is not limited to, rooming patients and collecting vitals, pulmonary function tests, administration of injections, EKGs, breathing treatments, lab testing, dressing changes, wound cleaning, hearing and vision tests, and other duties as assigned. Attention to detail and excellent documentation skills will be an ongoing expectation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent certificate
• Qualified applicants must be a Certified Medical Assistant, and will have graduated from a recognized Medical Assistant program.
• Prior experience in ambulatory health care facility preferred
• Ability to learn related center tasks and be of assistance to management and physicians.
• Self-motivated to achieve the highest patient care and customer service
• standards.
• CPR certified within the first 3 months of employment.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
• Familiarity with the EPIC EMR is strongly preferred.
• Thorough understanding of HIPAA law.
