Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians with patient care, including ophthalmology tests and front office duties. The role is part-time and requires strong communication with patients.

Schedule is 4 hours per day, Mon-Fri. A High School diploma or GED is required. Bilingual English/Spanish is highly desired; AHA Basic Health Care Life Support (HCP) certification is required. Phlebotomy Technician certification is preferred.

The Medical Assistant is responsible for ensuring that they assist physicians with all patient care.

MA will work directly with the providers during visits, assist with opthalmology tests and exams, communicating with patients, handling front office tasks.

May hold infants when necessary to facilitate examinations.

Schedule will be: 4 hours per day, Mon- Fri

Bilingual English/Spanish highly desired

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to interact effectively and in a supportive manner with varying populations
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Knowledge of computerized processes and data entry procedures

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

• Minimum 2-3 years experience as a Medical Assistant preferred

Licenses and Certifications Required:

• AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.

Licenses and Certifications Preferred:

• Certified Phlebotomy Technician
