Job summary

MaxHealth's Cancer Center of Bradenton is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant to oversee patient care, prepare rooms, assist physicians with exams, and handle front desk tasks. The role offers a $500 sign-on bonus after 30 days, and starting pay is $20.00 per hour.

Hours are Monday-Thursday 7:30am-4:00pm, with rotating Fridays 7:30am-noon; bilingual preferred. We provide health benefits, a 401k plan, life insurance, long-term disability, paid holidays and PTO.

• 1+ years of experience as an MA.

Responsibilities

• Oversee patient care and triage on arrival.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MEDICAL ASSISTANT

As a Medical Assistant, you are directly involved in ensuring that we deliver focused and empathetic patient care at all times. As a true people person, you thrive in this environment as you greet patients warmly and triage them upon arrival. You prepare them to see the physician by preparing examination and procedure rooms, obtaining their histories, vital signs, and weight/height measurements. As needed, you perform some administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and procedures for patients as well as managing the necessary documents such as pre-authorizations, medical records, and test results. While maintaining a calming presence for our patients, you also assist with examinations, procedures, and treatments.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A MEDICAL ASSISTANT

• 1+ years of experience as an MA
• Ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
• Computer literacy (experience using EMR/EHR)
• Computer proficient
