Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide comprehensive patient care in a clinical setting. The role includes pre-visit planning, charting, patient prep, and care team coordination, with emphasis on accurate demographics and clean exam environments.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma (or equivalent) and MA program background, plus 1 year of clinical experience and strong customer service. BLS/CPR certification is required or current within 60 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of clinical experience OR graduate of Medical Assistant program required.
• Two years of experience in a similar healthcare setting is preferred.
• Customer service experience is strongly preferred.
• BLS/CPR current or within 60 days of hire; through ARC or AHA.

Responsibilities

• Review and update patient medical records prior to appointments and determine needed services with provider input.
• Complete pre-charting of value-based pieces up to five days before appointment.
• Communicate with Care Team when warranted.
• Prepare patients for examination and escort to the exam room.
• Assist in capturing demographic information and maintain exam room cleanliness.
• Provide injections or immunizations within State guidelines; maintain clinical supplies and sanitize instruments.

Job description

• Conducts pre-visit planning by reviewing and updating the patient’s medical record prior to the appointment with recent test results and correspondence and determines needed services by conferring with the provider
• Completes pre-charting of all value-based pieces up to five days prior to patient’s appointment
• Sends messages to the Care Team, when warranted
• Responsible for preparing patients for examination and escorting them into the exam room
• Assists in capturing demographic information
• Provides other patient care services as needed/directed: keeps exam rooms clean; maintains clinical supplies in exam rooms; cleans and autoclaves contaminated instruments; gives injections or immunizations within State guidelines

Requirements

• High School degree or equivalent required
• One year of clinical experience OR graduate of Medical Assistant program required
• Two years of experience in a similar healthcare setting is preferred
• Customer service experience is strongly preferred
• BLS/CPR: Current or within 60 days of hire; through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
