Job summary

SGMC Health in Valdosta, GA is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support the APRN and physicians in the SPN - NEUROSURGERY department. The role involves preparing patients for examinations and assisting with procedures.

You will transcribe into the EMR, perform clerical duties, help schedule surgeries and obtain precertifications, and may perform phlebotomy with no waived testing. This is a full-time, day-shift position.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant certification preferred.
• One-year experience in clinical area preferred. Current CPR certification.
• General office skills and medical terminology preferred.

JOB LOCATION : Professional Building

DEPARTMENT: SPN - NEUROSURGERY

SCHEDULE: Full Time, 8 HR Day Shift, 8-5 M-Th, 8-12 Fri

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• High School Graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant certification preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS- ADA INFORMATION

Works primarily in the medical office setting, consistent shift and unit. Requires moderate to frequent lifting (excess of 50 lbs.), bending, and assisting in same, using correct techniques. Must be able to operate office equipment, computer terminals and keyboards, computerized lab equipment. Likely to be exposed to blood, body fluids and infectious diseases. Requires extensive walking during shift.
