Hawaii Pacific Health seeks a Medical Assistant for the Mililani Family Health Center to perform diverse patient care activities under the supervision of physicians and clinical staff.

The role requires completion of an MA program, CMA/ABR-OE/RMA/NCMA/CCMA or equivalent, and a current BLS CPR certification. Day shift, full-time with a 10-hour schedule at Mililani Clinic, and a competitive total rewards package.

Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant Program.
  • CMA/ABR-OE/RMA/NCMA/NCCT/NAHP/AMCA/AMCA/CCMA certifications are acceptable.
  • Current BLS CPR required; department competency assessment by orientation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide variety of patient care activities in the Family Practice setting.
  • Support physicians and staff with exam rooms, specimen collection, and basic procedures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and patient communications.

Founded in 1921, Straub Benioff Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i. At the Mililani Family Health Center our services include: diagnosis and treatment of illness and injury for infants, children, adolescents and adults; periodic physical examinations for children and adults; complete obstetrics/gynecology and family planning services; lab testing and on-site X-ray and mammography services and routine immunizations.

As a Medical Assistant in our Family Practice department, you will join the dedicated team of physicians and medical staff that provide our recognized compassionate health services to patients and their families. In this role, you will perform a wide variety of patient care activities at Straub Mililani. We are looking for someone detail-oriented and attentive, with strong communications and patient care skills and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai'i’s people.

Minimum Qualifications: High school or equivalent. Completion of a Medical Assistant Program and/or equivalent experience. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), OR Assessment Based Recognition in Order Entry (ABR-OE)from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), OR Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from the American Medical Technologist (AMT), OR Nationally Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) from the National Center for Competency testing (NCCT), OR Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from American Registry of Medical Assistants, OR Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) from National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP), OR Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) from the American Medical Certification Association (AMCA), OR Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) from the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Card. Must Be able to complete departmental competency assessment by conclusion of orientation period.

Preferred Experience: Six (6) months medical assistant experience. Knowledge of Classification Procedural Terminology (CPT) and/or International Classification of Disease (ICD-10) coding. Experience with electronic medical records.
