Job summary

Dignity Health Medical Group – Stockton is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patients and the clinical team in a busy outpatient setting. You will help prepare charts, assist with exams or procedures, and relay physician instructions to ensure smooth daily operations at our Stockton site.

You will accurately document vitals, manage EMR records, assist with medication authorizations and refills, and collaborate with physicians, insurance, and pharmacies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient charts and support daily operations.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Medical Assistant, you will ensure smooth daily operations for your patients and the medical team. You can expect to support multiple patients daily, depending on physician availability. This position is represented by the SEIU-UHW.

Every day you will proactively prepare patient charts, assist with patients exams or procedure and relay physician instructions, administer physician-directed medication and perform accurate vital sign measurements, manage medical records (charts and EMR), communicate patient concerns to providers, and collaborate with physicians, insurance, and pharmacies for medication authorizations and refills..

Job Requirements

Required

• High School Graduate General Studies or GED General Studies


• Satisfactory completion of formal Medical Assistant program pursuant to the Division of Allied Health Professions or military training that is equivalent to an accredited Medical Assistant program (determination by DHMF HR department in conjunction with the State Division of Allied Health)


• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire

Preferred

• 6 months experience in an outpatient setting as a Medical Assistant


• 6 months experience in an outpatient setting as a Medical Office Receptionist or an equivalent amount of experience in a highvolume customer service role in another industry/environment working with referrals or scheduling surgeries


• Experience in billing


• Prior call center experience preferred


• Experience with multi-line phones/ACDphones preferred


• Prior call center experience preferred
