Job summary

Hartford HealthCare Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and clerical support across multiple Urology offices in the Hartford region. You will perform vitals, patient history, screenings, and health maintenance while assisting providers with in-house procedures.

Reliable transportation is needed to cover different sites. The role includes scheduling, chart prep, referrals and transportation facilitation, with emphasis on high-level disinfection.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program or active CT CNA/EMT/Paramedic certification.
• Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association to be obtained within 3 months of hire.
• All required credentials must be maintained throughout employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic clinical and clerical support in patient care within the MA scope of education.
• Cover multiple Urology offices in the Hartford region for day-to-day collaboration.
• Perform vitals, screenings, health maintenance and medication reconciliation.
• Assist providers with in-house Urology procedures as needed.
• Provide scheduling, chart prep, referrals and transportation facilitation; maintain high-level disinfection.

Job Summary

Provides basic clinical and clerical support in the delivery of patient care within the Medical Assistant (MA) scope of education. The MA experiences continued training of all aspects of the MA role.

The MA covers multiple Urology offices in the Hartford region, bringing variety to your workday and the chance to collaborate across multiple teams and communities. Reliable transportation needed.

Clinical/Administrative duties

• Vitals, allergy/medical reconciliation, screenings, placing event monitors, patient history, health maintenance, advance directives and virtual health.
• Conducts point of care testing including quality control and documentation.
• Assists providers with in-house Urology procedures, as needed
• Provides administrative support including but not limited to scheduling, chart prep, referrals, check in/out, prior authorizations and transportation facilitation.
• High level disinfection is a primary duty requiring demonstrated proficiency. Training will be provided.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR an active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic or Medic Certification OR relative experience as outlined below.
• Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• All required credentials to be maintained throughout employment.

Experience

• In lieu of education requirement, at least one year of experience in direct patient care (acute or ambulatory space) may be considered.
• Relevant experience or MA externship in a busy medical office preferred.
• EPIC EMR experience preferred.
